Home Telemonitoring

For patients who are receiving skilled home health services under their doctors orders, telemedicine is one tool their VNS clinician’s may utilize to help with progression of their home health care plan goals. While progressing towards certain goals, telemedicine is provided free of charge by VNS Home Health Services.

Some patients, who have reached their home health care goals, may opt to continue with telemedicine on a private pay basis, to make them feel more secure in maintaining their health care status.  Private pay for telemedicine includes utilization of the home telemedicine unit and the review of the vital sign data by the nurse housed at VNS reviewing the data.

If you are interested in pursuing private pay telemedicine call Ed Wojciechowski at 788-2042 or email ewojciechowski@vnshomehealth.org

Here’s what one patient had to say about their telemedicine experience at VNS.

I started on home health when I was experiencing a “woozy” feeling. My physician had just changed the dosage of my blood pressure medications and I continued to feel unsteady. I am primarily on my own and thankful to be in my own house at 88.

Once VNS came in, they put a telemedicine machine in my home and monitored my vital signs to determine how my blood pressure was doing with the changes in medication.

What a blessing. The nurse - Carol - who I never met would review my vital signs that had been sent to the VNS office for her to see - and call me when the values were bad and sometimes when they were good.  I always felt comfortable calling her when something was amiss. My vital signs stabilized and my “woozy” feeling has diminished. That telemedicine in conjunction with Carol really got me over the hump.
